Our special guest speaker Kevin Caslor, former participant turned advocate and volunteer, shared the impact Power To Be has had on his life.

“I was a high-school student who did not really enjoy being outdoors, and someone who was less than enthused about kayaking,” said Caslor. “Power To Be challenged my outlook, and succeeded. Today, thanks to Power To Be’s support and confidence building over the years, I now have my own single kayak, and would spend all of my free time paddling if it was at all possible. In addition, Power To Be encouraged me to increase my confidence to the point where I became a volunteer. It may sound cliché, but Power To Be’s people have become like a second family to me, always keeping me laughing as we continue to change the lives of people with disabilities for the better.”

Silent auction packages included a Private Jet to Seattle Seahawks Game, Escape to the Poetry Inn in Napa Valley, The Lodge at Gold River Freshwater Fishing Experience, Escape to Penthouse Suite at Long Beach Lodge in Tofino, and Detroit Red Wings Hockey Experience. Prizes included A Wild Retreat at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, Nimmo Bay Luxury Getaway, and Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.

In the words of Executive Director Tim Cormode, “Tonight was a clear indication that philanthropic leadership remains fundamental in moving our mission forward. We want to say a huge thanks to our event sponsors, guests and volunteers who made this night a big success. We could not of done it without you.”
