Volunteering with Power To Be enables us to make nature-based adventures accessible to all individuals in our community. From supporting the administration of our team to helping a participant kayak the coast or explore a trail, your time is the biggest difference in the number of people we can help and lives we can enhance.

Administrative Support Volunteer:
Location: Prospect Lake, Victoria, BC
The Administrative Support Volunteer will act as the friendly face of our organization that meets and greets individuals who contact the organization by phone or in person, while demonstrating a high level of professional customer service with every interaction. Advancement Admin Volunteer:
Location: Prospect Lake, Victoria, BC
The Advancement Admin Volunteer will assist our team with the administration of our Year End Campaign, one of our key fundraising events of the year. We are looking for an organized individual who is personable, a strong communicator and works well in a team. Bookkeeping Volunteer:
Location: Prospect Lake, Victoria, BC
This dynamic role will support the internal operations of our mission by assisting our finance team with core areas of our general bookkeeping tasks. Support with administrative aspects within the Power To Be office. Activities could include front desk support, researching, data entry and various tasks.

Event Volunteer
Power To Be is not currently looking for event volunteers at this time. However we invite you to stay connected and get involved in other ways by checking out our upcoming events here.
Program Volunteer

Assist in the process of creating a safe and supportive environment for Adaptive Recreation participants. Activities could include kayaking, hiking, canoeing and indoor rock climbing.

  • Vancouver: We have currently paused on accepting volunteer applications in Vancouver due to a long waitlist and limited opportunities. If you have any questions you can reach out to vanvolunteers@powertobe.ca.
  • Victoria: A waitlist is being taken in Victoria. Please see below to sign up for an information session to learn more and have your name added to our waitlist.
Prospect Lake Site Volunteer

Support general grounds/maintenance and site development during specific volunteer work days.

Board and Committees

Various roles to support the Board of Directors and Committees. Power To Be is not currently looking for committee volunteers at this time.

Specific placements support students in gaining experience in their fields of study.

How to Join

  1. Attend an information session to learn more (see dates below).
  2. When notified by Power To Be, submit an online volunteer application.
  3. Attend an in-person interview with a Power To Be staff member.
  4. Submit the required paperwork, including criminal record check.
