How to get started:

  2. Complete our volunteer registration form to let us know who you are and what you’re interested in.
  3. We’ll be in touch to schedule a 1:1 phone call.
  4. Complete the initial intake steps for the role(s) you’re interested in.
  5. Attend an upcoming volunteer orientation session.

Community Engagement

Status: Actively Recruiting

Location: Victoria, BC.
Help us connect with new participants,
volunteers and community supporters as an ambassador for Power To Be. In the past volunteers have hosted booths at events such as the Victoria Marathon and Rifflandia to share information about our programs, answer questions, and make new connections!

Operational Support

Status: Paused

Location: Victoria, BC.
Lend us your skills, knowledge and experience as you work on business projects and tasks within the Power To Be office. Activities could include front desk reception, communications, research, data entry and various other tasks based on departmental needs.

Program Support

Status: Paused

Locations: Victoria and Vancouver, BC.
Help us create a safe and welcoming environment for participants by providing social and moral support while engaging in recreational activities together. Typical program activities include hiking, rock-climbing, kayaking, canoeing and more.

Site Stewardship

Status: Actively Recruiting

Location: Victoria, BC.
Join us for weekly nature connection alongside a community of land stewards who foster the accessibility and beauty of our site at Prospect Lake. This role may involve gardening, land restoration, or the maintenance of outdoor areas like our play space. Your involvement will be based on your interests!

Student Practicums and Placements

Status: Paused

Location: Victoria, BC.
Practicum volunteers have the opportunity to complete volunteer hours as part of a designated post-secondary program. In the past, we have had practicum students support our Marketing and Communications department and our Program department.

Short Term Volunteer Roles

Looking to lend us a hand on a short-term basis? We’d be happy to have your help for a single outing or on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year with the activites outlined below! 

Submit our intake form for short term volunteers to sign up for an upcoming activity or join our email list for future ones! We’ll then let you know about events and work parties that you can join us for.

Event Assistance

Status: Actively Recruiting

Location: Victoria, BC.
Power To Be events such as Power To Summit seek volunteer support before, during, and after the event to make sure everything runs smoothly! Roles will vary depending on the needs of the event, but could include tasks like supporting participant sign-in, assembling event materials, directing parking on site, as well as setting-up and cleaning-up event facilities, etc.

Work Party Volunteer

Status: Actively Recruiting

Location: Victoria, BC.
Join us for a day of connection and service as you work within a group to tackle a variety of seasonal tasks. Projects may include invasive species removal, trail maintenance, gardening and more!
