Experience the river through the sesnses of our participants

On the Cheakamus River, you go with the flow. For Power To Be, that means hopping into inflatable rafts with our participants to explore Squamish from a new perspective with paddles in hand.

“Because I can’t see much I can feel the openness, I can feel the motion of the boat going up and down and left and right,” says Bill, Power To Be participant. “After a while you sort of adjust to the movement and you feel like you are riding the waves down very smoothly.”

We were excited to partner with Canadian Outback Rafting on this adventure as a complement to our more common activities of kayaking, canoeing, hiking, camping and more. To capture the experience, we welcomed Michael Downie from DownieLive to the share the program through the camera lens.

For many of our participants, it was their first-time white-water rafting, but it likely won’t be the last.

“Today was fun because we got to sit in the front and have big water wars with everybody,” says Zach, Power To Be participant. “I got all the splashes.”

Thank you to Michael Downie with DownieLive and Canadian Outback Rafting for this amazing adventure.
