From day one of meeting Kendal she brings you into her heart and mind with true authenticity and care. She has a drive, genuine interest, and incredible creativity in the work we do. She is wonderfully passionate about building community, and believes in the power of shared culture and creating a sense of belonging.
Kendal started with Power To Be over 8 years ago as the Program Support Specialist in Victoria. Through this role she fell in love with our volunteer community and has since become a huge advocate for the incredible impact these dedicated people have on not only our programs, but the whole operation of Power To Be. She took this passion and carved out a dedicated volunteer services program within Power To Be, allowing for the growth of this community while continuing to focus on building culture, meaningful experiences, and positive relationships. Now as the People & Culture Lead, Kendal brings this same inspiration and passion to caring for and developing our staff team, while still seeing the connections and opportunities for collaboration between staff, volunteers, participants and donors.
Her unique ability is finding the grace between being nimble and responsive, to being organized and systematic. She leads by example and is such a strong mentor, teammate and friend to many. She is not afraid to push herself and push our organization to be better from an inclusive point of view, and naturally sees how to bring out the strengths in our team.
When Kendal is around, everyone feels her presence as she compliments and adds to any environment in a way that elevates us all. This may be seen in the thoughtful details she puts into a staff recognition or training event, jumping on program to connect with our participants, or always thinking of ways to connect volunteer’s interests with Power To Be’s projects. She brings intention and creativity (and usually some dance moves!) to every area of Power To Be.
Thank you Kendal for all that you are to Power To Be!
