Our Environmental Stewardship and Education Lead, Kallie, started off at Power To Be as a volunteer six years ago, when she attended IA programs and supported participants on kayaking and hiking programs. After years as a volunteer, she started a full-time role at Power To Be and helped kick off the Landscaping and Restoration Training program. Kallie is currently doing intake for the Landscaping program’s third cohort!
Whether it’s through getting out onto the water, going for hikes, or forest bathing, Kallie enjoys working long-term with participants, developing connections, and witnessing growth in those she works with. When she’s facilitating programs, Kallie ensures it’s not just about the skills and the training, but also about building up comfort in a group setting and feeling a sense of belonging. Her uplifting and supportive presence is felt in all aspects of her time at Power To Be!
In addition to the Landscaping program, Kallie works with previous Landscaping participants in alumni programs, and helps lead the Site Stewardship program, which brings volunteers and participants together to look after the gardens and landscaping at Power To Be. Connecting her background in outdoor education and her passion for restoration and accessibility, the programs she leads are sure to be filled with adventure, education, and fun. We look forward to following along with all the great adventures Kallie has planned for this year!
Thank you Kallie for your great attitude, kindness, and dedication to get everyone into nature, and for all that you do to connect participants to the outdoors in unique and inspired ways. Your love of the natural world, and your passion for truly supporting the people you work with shines in all that you do!
