How will my online donation be processed?
Power To Be partners with CanadaHelps to process online donations. CanadaHelps is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to increasing charitable giving in Canada. The CanadaHelps platform is one of the most stable and low-cost available in Canada (for more info on processing fees check out CanadaHelps). Approximately half of the fee goes to CanadaHelps to support its services for charities and the remainder of the fee goes to cover costs incurred from credit card companies, banks and other financial institutions. By using CanadaHelps, Power To Be is able to offer a trusted and reliable online donation experience for supporters like you.
Is my donation secure?
Definitely. CanadaHelps and Power To Be are registered charities that follow the guidelines set out by the Canadian Revenue Agency. For more information, you can review Power To Be’s Privacy Policy and CanadaHelps’ Privacy Policy.
Is my online donation via CanadaHelps tax deductible and do I get a receipt?
In most cases, yes. CanadaHelps will email qualified donors a tax receipt as soon as your one-time donation is submitted. For monthly donations, you need to follow the prompts to set up a CanadaHelps Donor Profile where you can manage your monthly donations and access your tax receipts.
Can I donate with a cheque?
Absolutely! Please make the cheque payable to Power To Be and mail it to: Power To Be, 4633 Prospect Lake Rd, Victoria, BC V9E 1J5. Please do not mail cash. Your return mailing address is important so we can send you a tax receipt.
What is Power To Be’s gift acceptance policy?
Power To Be accepts gifts, including in-kind gifts and services, donations, grants and funds. For more information, please email info@powertobe.ca.
