Rezoning Application for Camping

We have submitted a rezoning application to Saanich to ask for a change of use to allow supervised camping at our Prospect Lake site beyond the current temporary use permit. Camping programs are pivotal for Power To Be as they provide our participants a safe space to build confidence, learn new skills, and deepen their appreciation for nature.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN:

We want to provide supervised camping programs for our participants in environmentally appropriate areas of our site beyond the temporary use permit that we currently hold. We will not be providing public camping as it does not reflect the needs of our participants and the Prospect Lake community.

The rezoning process will take about a year and we want to thank the community and Saanich for their support in this process so far. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to info@powertobe.ca or 250-385-2363.

WHAT WE WANT TO DO:

Our mission is to inspire people in need of support to discover their limitless abilities through nature-based programs. Our Prospect Lake site creates a sense of place for participants and their families to explore what’s possible while building deeper connections with nature and community regardless of their ability or barrier. We are actively working to evolve the site into an inclusive outdoor recreation hub that is informed by the community it serves, inspired by the natural spaces it inhabits, and can meet increasing community needs.
