On Friday, September 17th, Power To Be kicked off our 2nd Power To Summit Vancouver fundraising event. This virtual adventure saw 32 teams of four racers trek through rain, wind, and mud to cumulatively summit the elevation of North America’s highest peak, Mt. Denali, at 6190 metres.
With the extension of the race due to weather conditions during the first weekend, we were so impressed with teams’ dedication and commitment to complete the summit and continue to share photos and their stories as they made their way to the top. From car washes to costumes to views above the clouds, racers showed immense team spirit as they raised awareness and raised funds for Power To Be.
With an ambitious fundraising goal of $200,000, our racers stepped up to the plate and through creativity, resourcefulness, and teamwork, together we raised $202,094 in support of Power To Be! The money raised from the event helps to ensure that our participants can continue to access nature, and for that we are so incredibly grateful!
“Thank you for supporting Power To Be wholeheartedly. To have raised over $200,000 through this virtual event is incredible; we are so proud of everyone who made this event a success. From racers, to fundraising champions, to our sponsors and event partners, your support makes all the difference in our community. The team at Power To Be is still gushing over all the highlight and laughs we shared throughout the event.” – Corra-Rose McClung-Sitnam, Corporate Relations Lead at Power To Be.
Power To Summit was born in 2020 and it has been amazing to be able to create a safe event for our community to connect and share their passion for Power To Be.
