Dear Valued Community of Power To Be,
Thank you so much for your continued support. As we are all aware, these are not easy times for anyone as the concern for COVID-19 continues to grow. This is no exception at Power To Be. The health and well-being of our participants, staff, volunteers and community stakeholders are paramount at Power To Be. It is the heart of what we do: caring and aspiring others to get outside and enjoy the many health benefits of being in nature.
Power To Be supports a variety of immune-compromised populations who have been identified as a high risk for contracting this virus. We are steadfast in our belief that our mission has significant positive impacts on those we serve and we have proved that repeatedly with the assistance of a wonderful team of people who truly believe in what we do. With that support comes a significant responsibility to be accountable to those we serve.
Power To Be is not in any position to test for COVID-19 so we cannot say we can protect our participants, staff, and volunteers from contracting this virus and that does not sit well with us. After careful consideration, we have decided to take an abundance of caution in protecting those we serve by suspending our programs for a period of time that will be re-evaluated a month from now.
I’d like to extend my deepest gratitude to our Board of Directors and our staff for working together and supporting this difficult decision. It is my hope that you will please continue to support our Power To Be family because we need you now more than ever. At this time, we are still planning to host all of our key fundraising events and will continue to monitor the progress of these events on a constant basis.
As soon as we know more, we will be informing you. Thank you for your understanding, and continued support.
With sincere gratitude,
Tim Cormode, CEO & Founder, Power To Be
*UPDATE: April 18, 2020 – Power To Be’s program suspension will continue and updates will be provided pending changes to the COVID-19 situation.
