Inclusive outdoor recreation programs to be offered in iconic park

Stanley Park will soon be the site of a pilot project to enrich the health and quality of life for youth, families and adults living with barriers.

The Vancouver Park Board approved a partnership beginning in 2012 with Power to Be Adventure Therapy to provide inclusive outdoor education programs in Stanley Park this summer for people facing challenges as diverse as cancer, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, brain injuries, abuse at home or tough socio-economic conditions. A wide range of outdoor programming will be offered including cycling, hiking and sea kayaking.
