The 11th annual Power To Golf raised $400,000 in support of Power To Be’s inclusive adventures rooted in nature. The tournament brought notable business leaders and athletes to Victoria Golf Course for a day on the links June 15, 2017, followed by a private reception at the home of Terry and Carol Johnston.

“The support Power To Be received yesterday is vital to ensuring we can offer programs year-round to the participants we serve in Victoria and Vancouver,” says Dana Hutchings, Power To Be Director of Advancement and Communication. “We know the power of partnership, and events such as this are a great example of what is possible when we work together to reach a goal. The generosity of our guests helps ensure more than 1,200 participants can create their own community connections.”

On the course, teams of golfers had the opportunity to connect with Power To Be’s community, including participants and volunteers. Before hitting the greens, NHL players Jamie Benn, Jordie Benn and Tyson Barrie made time for a meet and greet with three Power To Be participants who attended the tournament. Each participant was presented with a signed jersey from Jamie Benn, captain of the Dallas Stars.

The evening offered guests incredible door prize adventure packages and impressive silent auction items made possible by the generous donations from Power To Be supporters across Canada and as far away as the Belize.

To date, Power To Golf has raised more than $1.5 million in support of Power To Be.
