Schedule a meaningful group volunteering experience for your team!

We welcome your group to help us create and improve accessible areas where we conduct programs while restoring and enhancing the natural environment. Seasonal tasks and projects are selected based on the needs of our Prospect Lake site, our programs, and environmental initiatives. These may include invasive species removal, trail maintenance, landscaping and more!

The benefits to scheduling your group volunteering activity with Power To Be:

  3. Our place is designed with accessibility and inclusion at the centre.
Every element of our EcoStar-award-winning home was chosen with a deep consideration for our community members. Our design includes single-story layout, wide corridors suitable for people of all mobilities, universal washrooms, inclusive signage, and a fully-accessible pathways.

Frequently Asked Questions - Group Volunteering

Do you welcome groups at any time of the year?

Opportunities for group volunteering vary based on the time of year and site tasks that require support. After hearing from you, our team will be in touch to let you know what options are available for your group.

How many people can you accommodate at a time?

We can accommodate groups of up to 25 people. Groups of less than 6 will be invited to join one of our pre-scheduled work parties available throughout the year. Groups of over 6 will have a new work party organized specifically for their team.

What takes place during a group volunteering activity?

We begin each visit with an opening circle that introduces volunteers to our team, each other and the place we’re connecting in. Volunteers then learn about Power To Be and adaptive recreation through a tour of our home base. After taking on a shared project that meaningfully contributes to the health of our site, we end the visit with a closing circle to reflect on the experience we shared.

What do you require from our team to participate?

We ask that each member of your group complete an intake form to share health and safety information with our staff and to sign an informed consent form.
