From the mossy hemlock and cedar forest to a stony water’s edge, Sandcut Beach has more than a few surprises for those that venture down the trail. The beach is part of the Jordan River Regional Park and the perfect day-trip location in all seasons.
Roughly a 10-minute hike one way, the trail is a combination of compacted earth and stairs. While the walk is short, be prepared for a variety of surfaces that can be muddy during the wet season. Several sets of stairs help you navigate the steeper sections of trail. Be sure to look up and around during your breaks to enjoy the view of our mossy West Coast forest.

How to get there
Located between French Beach Provincial Park and Jordan River, Sandcut Beach is a 31-kilometre drive west of Sooke. The trailhead starts at a small parking lot with rustic accessible washroom facilities.
