“I am currently in my final year at Capilano University’s Outdoor Recreation Management Program (OREC) and feel fortunate to have completed my practicum with Power To Be. I felt that OREC had prepared me well for excelling with Power To Be as the program taught me technical outdoor skills, knowledge of BC’s unique natural history along with leadership skills. By completing the practicum, I was able to gain a greater perspective on what is possible for outdoor programing and was instrumental in improving my leadership skills. I wanted to have a practicum placement that would allow me to stretch my leadership abilities and see the outdoor industry from a different perspective and Power To Be delivered! All the staff were very welcoming and from day one I felt I was a part of the team. I felt supported throughout my practicum and was glad I had the opportunity to lead programs with such fun, knowledgeable and compassionate people. Power To Be was a rewarding experience and a dream practicum placement. I would recommend this practicum to anyone that is looking to work in the outdoor industry or gain a new perspective on what is possible in adaptive programing.” – Kaelan
