Power To Golf raises $261,000 for inclusive recreation programs
At Victoria Golf Club, 31 teams of golfers had the opportunity to connect with Power To Be’s community, including participants and volunteers. The evening reception, hosted by Peter and Ali Gustavson, offered guests incredible door prize adventure packages and impressive silent auction items made possible by the generous donations from Power To Be supporters across Canada and as far away as Thailand.
Throughout the course, golfers enjoyed sponsored holes featuring donated food from the likes of The Local, Cactus Club Cafe and The Keg, and beverages from Saltspring Island Ales, Driftwood Brewing, Blue Grouse Winery and Sage Hill Vineyard.
“Our amazing community of supporters makes it possible for Power To Be to offer inclusive, accessible recreation to youth and families in Victoria and Vancouver,” says Tim Cormode, Power To Be Executive Director. “We truly believe that everyone belongs in nature, and that given the opportunity to challenge themselves in that environment they will be able to develop confidence in all areas of their lives.”
Thank you to everyone, including our sponsors, who made the ninth annual Power To Golf such an amazing success. We look forward to helping people create more memories in nature thanks to yours support!
