Adaptive Recreation programs support people living with a disability or barrier in experiencing inclusive recreational activities while exploring nature and their natural abilities. From land to sea, we adapt our programs to our participants and provide the equipment and support they may need to experience year-round adventures – and we encourage family to participate and share in the experience, too.
From youth as young as seven to adults of all ages, we support individuals living with a variety of barriers, including cognitive and physical disabilities, mental health considerations, injuries and illnesses in Vancouver and Victoria. Family members and support workers are often welcome to participate as well.
With the support of our community, all of our programs are subsidized, minimizing cost to individual participants. Most Adaptive Recreation adventures start at $10, with costs subject to change based on type and length of activity. Bursaries are available if cost is a barrier.
This program is available in Victoria and Vancouver. Program locations vary based on activity; however, all locations are accessible and many are near public transit. Our adventures happen year-round, with programs offered week days and weekends. Depending on the activity, programs are offered either during the day or in the evening. Most of our programs are half or one-day in length, with occasional overnight adventures.

“I have a significant disability and this experience like no other broadened my perspective and confidence of what I am able to do. The greatest barriers are the ones we create.
